Why is breast cancer in women so prevalent in modern times?
I think its always been among us. With media and such we see more now so.
I believe it's modern day technology in the world of medicine. These days discovering diseases in the human body is just another day in the life of the average doctor; the knowledge and instruments they have today are way beyond anything they had 100 years ago. Science plays a huge part in our medicine too as does awareness.
In one word: Progress!
I wonder if it's more prevalent now, if it's being detected more due to women's awareness and technology, or if it has something to do with more toxic chemicals we are exposed to in the environment and in what we eat. I suspect it's a combination of all.
I think diet plays a much larger role in it than people realize. The chemicals from the processed foods are starting the cancerous cells, and the over-emphasis on animal protein like milk, eggs and meat, is feeding those cancer cells until they become fatal. The subject is covered pretty heavily in The China Study.
The foods we eat have changed in many lifestyles thus increasing breast cancer.
