What do you think happens when you die?

Do you think we cease to exist?
Do you think we got to heaven/hell?
Do you think we go somewhere else?
    or what?
Also do you think the dead can communicate with us?
and why do you believe like you do?

We become brown bread and slowly decompose until our organic matter has been dispersed throughout the ecosystem. Unless, of course, you're mummified or plastinated or something. Then you get to be a pretty little decoration.

I believe as a person we cease to exist, we know nothing, feel nothing...etc. I base this on reason.

    1. How did it feel before we were born? We are unaware because we didn't exist.

    2. If 1 is the case then why should we assume death is different?

    3. I don't believe in any god based on the fact that there is no proof any god has ever existed, so heaven and hell is out.

As for the dead communicating with us...No I don't think it is possible based on my reasoning above.

Here is what I do believe though. My loved ones who have died in the past have left a little of themselves in my head. I can sometimes hear their voice giving me advice that I assume they would give if they were here. They shared with me their love and their ideas. In essence they have become a part of me. I will use that and hopefully some of me will rub off on my loved ones, and then to others and so on.

Because, who I have become is part of those that have passed away I am giving a little piece of who they were as well. This goes on and on. To live on in the hearts of those you loved is never to die.

Or to put it another way, we all must die but the good we did for others never will.

I appreciate you sharing your point of view with me. I too have lost loved ones and believe that the love/good they shared with me lives on.

For me reading this question is very perplexing now. I am just  not able to fathom the possibilities. I lean with levicolemagic's view. I hear the voices of loved ones now passed. Very comforting in times of stress. Sometimes those voices in my head are much better than the voices right next to me. Then I really wonder. I can get lost thinking about it.

Very interesting question. I thank you for giving me 'Pause'. It has inspired me with an idea I will put in my idea list with a few stars next to it for later.

The choice of Heaven or Hell is up to God and how we lived our present life on earth.  That's Purgatory. I think our souls goes up to Heaven to meet our loved ones, or goes to Hell, if we've committed crimes to animals or to others. If we believe in psychic mediums, that's one way to communicate the others, while angels will do so from above. I believe in God, angels and Heaven. I believe in miracles.
