To those whose remaining parent died, what is the psychological, even psychic impact on his/her
death upon you?
I had both my parents living until just a few years ago. Since I'm in my sixties, I've been an independent adult for many years already. Still I felt the impact when I lost both parents within a year and a half.
It's hard to say you are an orphan when you are 63 years old, but inside, you feel that way. You feel adrift without the rudder that your parents provided in your life.
Life goes on without them, but deep inside, my inner child misses her mommy.
