Do you feel that people that die at a younger age have it better?
When you age and your body starts to betray you, and you know you can no longer do the basic things that you need to live, You are basically waiting to die, do you feel dying before this happens is better?
It all depends on your health. Using your scenario, age wouldn't be the determining factor. It would be the quality of life, and that can be low at any age.
There are people healthy and productive at 70 and people who do nothing or are unable to do much at 50. Part of the difference is genetic, part of it is lifestyle choices that age the body.
Don't drink to excess, don't get fat, don't use drugs, avoid serious diseases like TB and Hepatitis, and modern medicine means you're more healthy at 60 than your grandparents were at 40.
I would say it is better not to live when you're so bad off you need nursing home quality of care, but that's a quality of life issue, not age.
