I love great exercise quotes and so do my clients - Dr. Seuss - sit in a chair that isn't there, you create your abs in the kitchen....

Can you please share your favorites?

I know this isn't really what you had in mind, but it's a cute one, and it reveals some of our excuses.  My mother discovered it in a magazine (so I don't know the author), and I may not have remembered the entire thing....  Anyway:

Here's to him who early rises
    And goes through his exercises,
    Bending over, touching toes!
I am never one of those -
Some days I'm too hot or cold,
    Other mornings, just too old!

    An old one

    "No pain No gain."

    I just brainstormed this one

" Walk a mile a day in my shoes & eventually you will become my size.."

"Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness." Earl of Derby
I like it so much, it is real one.

I think the "No Pain, No Gain" motto is useful only if we can teach the difference between (1) the good/pleasant ache of working muscles in the right way to push us beyond our limits and (2) actual pain which is designed to tell us that we did something wrong and harmful.

I like the "No Pain, Just Gain" motto.

This thread may inspire me to work on getting fit once again. big_smile

I've always enjoyed Thoreau's essay on walking. One of the lines I love; There will be so much the more air and sunshine in our thoughts.

I have many quotes that I like, one I like to use when it comes to serious training times is

"If it don't hurt it don't count"

I have to tell myself as well as others I'm training with that to keep pushing forward
