What do you do in your life to cope with hard times? How do you deal with a loss? I am interested to hear the multiple ways that people deal with stress, loss, and other difficulties.

Remember the happy moments in life.
Remind myself of my good qualities.
Remind myself of those that care about me (my support system).
Set goals and take note of those that are accomplished.
Think of something to be grateful for EVERY DAY.
      Journal.
      Spirituality.

I'm dealing with severe depression right now, by the way.

I wrote a hub on happiness. It is worth a look.

I am sorry to hear about that. I hope that you feel better in the near future.

I'm going to go do something productive for a half-hour. This invariably makes me feel better afterwards. smile

There are a lot of things I can do when things are difficult, I guess it depends on the particular situation - spending time with my dogs is pretty much always a winner, taking them for a walk and playing with them is good, spending some time with nature, doing a gratitude list, spending some time with a friend, not being too hard on myself, allowing myself time to feel something and time to breathe, killing bad guys on the X-box, taking action of some sort - these things work for me, sometimes in life though things can be so painful that all that can be done is to just remember that it will pass....

I would face the mirror doing a self talk then I'll breath out everything to the Lord and to feel really really better, I truly suggest that you had to have a play with your pets (specially cats!) I swear they can make you smile in an instant smile

I go to lake Ontario, stare at its cold waters, socialise with some half-frozen ducks swimming around, and dream about moving somewhere where I can get some piece and quiet. Helps a lot.

I listen to music that uplifts my soul. If the weather is nice, I'll go sit outside and just breath in the fresh air of springtime. Then I laugh with my children and play with my grandchildren. There's nothing like just letting go and allowing yourself to have fun with the little ones.

Spend more time doing what you really love. Spend time in your hobbies and interests like photography, gardening, pets etc.

You must have a high metabolism? tongue

Just joking, but that sounds like a good way to relax, at the least.
