I am sunilkunnoth2012 from India wishing all of my fellow members in HP community A Very Wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving Day. My understanding about this day is limited but I know it is of great importance in USA. I also understand that every year the fourth Thursday of November is being celebrated as Thanksgiving Day. I hope you have a wonderful celebration. Enjoy!!!
That's very kind of you, sunilkunnoth2012. Thanksgiving here in the US has become more of an opportunity to share time with our families. We get a couple days off work and put aside any stresses and pressures from normal life to eat a good meal with those closest to us. The so-called wide open spaces here have left many of us separated from loved ones by distance. I'm traveling about a hundred miles on the freeway today to be with my mother and siblings.
And we will enjoy (especially the stuffing smothered in turkey gravy)
Thank you very much! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, mainly because of all the great stories I've read about harvest celebrations. Happy Hanukkah to everyone as well!
Your being mindful of our special day and taking the time to express kind wishes for it, is appreciated. Thank you. I too, hope everyone had a very good Thanksgiving, or for those who do not recognize it, a very good day.
Thank you sincerely for your Thanksgiving Day wishes. My response is late, but I'd like for you to know that I enjoyed the day.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone including the HP staff.
My son just got married in Sept. the day before his bday. He married a very sweet, beautiful girl. Today she said to me she had actually been worried growing up, 'What if her mother in law couldn't cook? What if her in-laws weren't nice?' I thought it was such a funny thing to worry about growing up and at the same time, she was giving me the nicest compliment. I had told her how my mother in law wasn't always so kind and how I had always dreamed that I would get along really well with my daughter in law. I am so thankful for the new addition to our family and how both of our worries were put to rest the day he married her.
That's truly something to be thankful for, Beth. I enjoyed my late mother-in-law also, and I loved to cook when I was cooking for the family. I'm single now, but I am very thankful for my chance to do organic gardening. I love working with the plants and the earth.
And, thank you, Sunil, for remembering our American holiday. Cultures around the world have similar celebrations for the harvest time.
Who cares about Thanksgiving? It's time to go out and bankrupt ourselves on cheap TVs and buy-one-get-one-free vacuum cleaners!
Why aren't you out consuming yet?! YOU ARE A BAD CITIZEN IF YOU DO NOT CONSUME.
