I hope to take some time off the computer (like 1 week) and move out of the hectic town life for a while. And then I will enjoy the holiday with my family.
That sounds great...we all should get away from the computer this holiday season if possible to have more time in our interpersonal relationships with friends and family
Christmas Eve with my husband, Christmas morning with my side of the family, the afternoon with his mother, and New Years with extended family in Louisiana.
The big celebration in my family is on Christmas Eve. Most of us go to the evening Christmas Mass first or to the Midnight Mass that evening. Either way we all go to my grandparent's house for our big celebration. There are usually around 20-25 people or so, depending on if we have relatives in from out of the area or any friends invited. We have some appetizers and h'ors dourves and such. Then the youngest kids get to put all the Baby Jesus dolls/figurines into my grandma's various mangers, sometimes we sing a song while we're doing this. After that we have dinner, which is usually lasagna and some type of meat (most often pork roast) along with all the sides. After dinner we will open presents, eat a lot of dessert, possibly sing Happy Birthday Jesus, and at some point my littlest cousin will probably convince me to take her outside and search for Rudolph's nose. Then the Midnight Mass crew will hang around for awhile playing cards or other games until it is time to go to Church.
