My family actually opens our presents on Christmas Eve, so it is the main event instead of Christmas Day. We eat a fancy dinner, play games, and then open gifts.
We have a mini family get together on Christmas ever. Nice meal, conversations and small stocking stuffer gifts to open.
Sitting with my wife in the Christmas lights inside our modest home looking into the Christmas tree . . .then it all disintegrates when our grandchildren, ages 11, 9, and 6, open their gifts at the speed of light. What's depressing is that a grandparent, or parent can buy, hide gifts for weeks and Christmas is GONE in less than three minutes flat. (someone needs to take this hub idea and run with it, for I cannot do it due to my chronic depression.)
By decorating our house and make fun with my family and friends. Make some tasty dishes and pastries and cakes.
