Invisible War
Invisible War
In the dark of night, the pressure comes
Despair overwhelms and takes over
No answers, just questions
For actions take place when no one’s around
Not alone, but surrounded by empty space
Whispers are heard, in complete silence
No happiness, just salty tears
For the decisions about to be made
Who’s speaking in my ear?
Who’s the one to blame?
Am I alone in this fight?
Or does help shine through the darkness?
In broad daylight, nightfall looms
Anger breeds and assumes control
No order, just chaotic madness
For the following moments of outbursts
Voices fuel the fire in a cold soul
They shout violence and bitterness
No one hears them, just me
For the only color seen is red
Who’s speaking in my ear?
Who’s the one to blame?
Am I alone in this fight?
Or does help shine through the darkness?
The demons gather and surround
Sent by the one to destroy the love
No regrets, just empty hate
For the manipulation of our minds
A prayer within counters the attack
The angels hear and respond
No task too big, just victory
For the chains bind their feet & hands
The screams of the demons are heard
Through the consequences we bear
Not just the pain we feel
But when they’re gone, Love reigns strong
Who’s speaking in my ear?
Who’s the One who loves?
Am I grateful for this triumph?
When will no shadow cover light?
