What book are you currently reading?

I am reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.  Trying to read more of the classics and love it so far.

'House of the Seven Gables' by Nathaniel Hawthorne. I read it at least once a year, as I do with 'Jane Eyre' and 'Wuthering Heights'. I love the classics. 'Anna Karenina' by Tolstoy is another favorite.

I tried Anna Karenina but couldn't get into it.  Have House of Seven Gables and will read W. H. One of my favorites is A Tale of Two Cities

Currently "Second Planet of Oggu" by Péter Lengyel. Gotta love the old Central/Eastern European sci-fi; I've read the books at least ten times and still am able to find some detail I missed before here and then.

I'm reading "Thrive" by Arianna Huffington. I'm always looking for something to help me balance the demands and stressors in my life. It's an excellent book about redefining what it means to be successful. Great question, LoisRyan.

To improve my writing, more specifically the ability to use the technique coined, "stream of conscious" I have been reading both Death with Interruptions by Jose Saramago and struggling with The Dubliners by James Joyce...

'The Silmarillion' by Tolstoi. This is not one of his widely known books, but it gives more detail of Middle Earth and 'The Hobbit'. It is written to give more detail of the adventure detailed in 'The Hobbit' and not from the perceptions of Bilbo. I have loved these books since I was a teen and this one I have heard about, but just found it in a used bookstore recently. I have need of some escape books right now, and this is a good one that requires some concentration to keep things in order.

Indeed it is an important and great read if you have the tenacity to stick with it. The author was John R R Tolkien though. Good luck...

I read the Hobbit and TLOTR and loved them, but couldn't get through 'The Silmarillion'

OOPPSS, John Connor. I knew that and even glanced at it to make sure I was spelling the title right. I have the tenacity and will get through it. I am about half way through it now. If my 16 year old daughter could read it, I can get through it too.

You are a more tenacious reader then I. When you are 1/2 way up the mountain, don't look back, don't look down, carry on!

I am currently reading TELL NO ONE by Harlen Coben. It is a very good suspense thriller. I rarely read thrillers but I find this one quite interesting.

I know this is an older question but I so need to start reading again. It is nice to have a little quiet reading time. Did you finish that book you were reading? If so how was it?

For some reason didn't finish but was good and will do it again. I think it was my work schedule and has misplaced the book. Did complete the Left Behind series and loved it
