NEO-TECH DISCOVERY
By Frank R. Wallace
It revealed the meaning of life and my purpose in it.
It exposed the dangers of mysticism and the benevolence
of honesty by dealing with reality. I became more aware of
what was going on around me and inside my head. It help me
understand why people do what they do. More importantly, it
help me understand myself and my relationship with others.
Bottom line.....I'm a better person for it.
THE SILMARILLION
By J.R.R Tolkien.
I would pick this book to be my favorite book because it is inspiring. The first time I read it it was a difficult read, at first it seems like a history text. When I read it again for the second time the high and grand sounding language became a little more familiar and easy to understand. In The Silmarillion the accounts of deeds both great and terrible are written in such a way that it makes you think of real life. Not to say that I see real life as something that Tolkien has written, never that. Merely to say that Tolkien paints a world that makes me look at the world in a new way. Seeing new beauty in ordinary situations.

So what's your favorite fantasy or scifi author? For me, I love Diana Wynne Jones. Howl's Moving Castle or the Chronicles of Chrestomanci are just so much fun that they could brighten the darkest day! Not to mention her more serious works. So awesome! But I love Jim Butcher...

Do you have a favorite saying, or quote?A long time ago a man once told me "Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see". I never did check to see if this was a mainstream quote. I just preferred to keep it the wisdom of the man who said it to me. This phrase has stuck...

I grew up in the hay-day of science fiction so my obvious answer should be Asimov or Bradbury. But its not I will have to say the hard sifi of David Brin is my favorite.

What is your favourite book of all time? Why would you recommend it?How does literature released in the last 10 years compare with older, more classical styles of writing? I know that this varies greatly from genre to genre but am interested in finding a general overview.
