"What you sow, is what you reap!" ( found in the Bible) -- it is in a way, similar to the golden rule: Do not do unto others what you dont want others to do unto you.

There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives." -- Gen. Smedley Butler, USMC

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
    Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear--Dune

Reputedly from Sir Francis Bacon, a contemporary of William Shakespeare said:  "Reading maketh the learned man, writing, the exact man, a discourse, the ready man."   He was writing about being scholarly.

I also like the Scottish Philosopher, Thomas Carlisle, who on speaking about Creativity said:  "That man is most original who can adapt from the greatest number of resources."   Meaning, the more wider your base knowledge, the better your chances of coming up with something new.   In other words, too narrow a specialization keeps you that way - narrow minded.
