"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship the. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones." Marcus Aurelius

The only downside is that I'm a complete jerk to anyone I hate big_smile ...but on the upside the only people I hate are people like pedophiles who I can honestly say deserve to die.

From Jesus, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10)."

Though His words are rejected by those who do not believe Him, they have been light and life for me, working to prove Him in the darkest hours, encouraging me through all times, and giving me joy in what it means to have the faith He offers. John 10:10 reminds me of the process of growing out of the destructive blindness of self-satisfaction (Isaiah 5:20-21) and living out a journey along the path that grows brighter (Proverbs 4:18).

The volumes of details I could write about how He has sustained me in faithfulness to His Word, increased my faith even in times when I was tempted to question their truth, and made His presence/work known to me cannot fit here, and yet in comparing my experiences to some other believers, my details are small.

Many quotes from good people are on my list of favorites, but these words of truth are the words of life (Acts 4:12) for time and eternity!

    Two are my favorites:

Not sure of the exact wording:  Yoda said:  You do, or you do not, there is no try.

    Very meaningful and true.

And Scott Hamilton the ice skater in his autobiography wrote:  Things that happen to you may not be your fault, but they are thoroughly your responsibility.

So true in today's society when everyone seems to want to blame someone else for what happens in their life.

'Never let the sun set on an argument.'  That was a policy that my mum and dad lived by and they always had a good, happy marriage.  It is what I live by and has given me the same.  Also, you don't have the cancer of holding grudges dragging you down.

Love, like a river, will cut a new path whenever it meets an obstacle. - Crystal Middlemas

I love this quote because it sums up the power of love.  Love can conquer and overcome anything.  Love is almighty.

I learned this from my second grade teacher, Mrs. Feldman.   Now at 84, I still think it was the most useful quote I ever learned. "On a street called bye and bye you'll come to a house called never."

IMPOSSIBLE TAKES TIME, DIFFICULT WILL BE DONE IMMEDIATELY.

I read it many years back when one of my friend rode to LADAKH ( INDIA ). This was written on a bridge and it is important for me as it actually took me YEARS to try and attempt and complete that ride through the mighty Himalayas and stand at the same bridge and take that photo MYSELF !!

"If you love something set it free, but don't be surprised if it comes back with herpes."

    Valid advice I think.

and my favourite : " Sh*t on me once..shame on me..Sh*t on me twice and your A** is grass and I am the lawnmower "..(an original)...

I like many Quotes but two are very important to me which i always remember. Because our life is in our hand, we can change our life.

Do or Die is an old concept. Do before you die is the new concept.

Life is like water bubble use it before it breaks.

MIne is: 'Forgiveness is the perfume that the crushed flower sheds on the shoe that trampled it'.

I just think it's a beautiful sentiment and a great metaphor.

My favorite quote of all time is by Eartha Kitt. "I am learning all the time.  The tombstone will be my diploma."  This quote is so true to life. I always hear "own your learning", "you never stop learning", and "there is no such thing as a stupid question", which makes this quote even more true.
