Has anyone read Seamus Heaney's translation of Beowulf?

And if so, how do you think it compares to earlier translations (like we had to read in high school twenty years ago).

Well, I never wanted to read those other translations over again. I have re-read Seamus Heaney's translation 5 times and memorized several quotes.

I've read it. It's definitely more true to poetry than other translations. It's an artistic and well done translation.

It's excellent! I actually read it for fun after having been bored to tears over it at college.
