What is your favorite historical fiction novel and why do you like it?
Gotta be: "Gone With The Wind" Even though we know the story is fiction, it seems to be such a genuine picture of Civil War times. I read it first when I was in High School, before I saw the movie with Gable and Leigh-- was so impressed that the movie was so faithful to the novel-- with only a few minor story line omissions, due to the length of the book.
I really loved The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillippa Gregory. Though I know it is historically inaccurate, Anne Boleyn has always fascinated me and not much is known about her sister, Mary.
