Which topic should I choose for my next school paper?

I have a huge list of approved topics and have narrowed it down to these which interest me most.

Does day care harm the emotional development of infants?

Are all forms of therapy equally effective?

Is ethnic prejudice too ingrained to ever be eliminated?

Are our dreams an indication of our unconscious conflicts and desires?

Is psychotherapy more beneficial than psychiatric medication?

What is personality, and how is it measured?

I like the one about ethnic prejudice.  This is a hot topic in today's society.  There should be lots of valid information and expert opinions to support both  both sides of this debate.   You could also spend a great deal of word-count detailing what would need to be done to elimination of ethnic prejudices and explaining why this can be done or why this cannot and/or will not be done (depending on your stand on the topic) .

That is a great idea.  I wasn't really considering that one because I wasn't sure I could do the topic justice, but perhaps i will reconsider taking your advice into account!  Thank you!

As a former English teacher, I would suggest either "dreams" or  "psychotherapy versus medication".  I think you'd find a lot of material to support either topic.  Also, you could use an interview with a counselor, psychiatrist, and/or psychotherapist as an excellent resource. Some of the other topics are too vague, abstract and/or difficult to support.  Good luck with whatever you choose!

Thank you so much!  I was also really interested in those two topics.  Great idea, interviewing a counselor!

Pick something concurrent, that's in the news, then look for a new angle or perspective rather than simply rehashing what others say. Be bold and if you can justify a challenge to the accepted view, then do so.
