If it moves me. If I feel the emotion of the author, whether it is pain, grief, love, or whatever.
I love prose because it does not rhyme, which I feel constricts the language and teh feeling you're looking for in the language. With that said, I love that you can express your innermost feelings, passions and thoughts with a somewhat rhythmic movement using nothing more than words pulled out of your imagination. There's a fluidity, a motion, a feeling of openness and understanding when I read one that makes me feel closer to the poet himself. Of course I love to write them as well. They are more succinct however, maybe that's why I love them so much. It's the one place you can get away with short, to the point words that can say so much in a small space.
It can mean anything you want it to, and it doesn't have to make sense to anyone except yourself!
