Levi Bett, I think the first thing behind writing good poetry is reading as much poetry as you can. Also, studying some of the types of poems to find one that will fit your style of writing and expressing yourself. Not being afraid to put your thoughts and emotions on paper is important, too. After you write a poem, try reading it aloud to see how it sounds. This helps to feel the flow and rhythm of the words.
