I enjoyed Dr. Suess books as a child. My favorite is Hop on Pop. Which is yours?

Wow, that's a tough one. I had my son enrolled in the Dr. Suess book club when he was still in my womb. By the time he was born, we had a full library. I'd read to him every day at 2:00 p.m. from the first day he was born. Too many of them are favorites for me because they bring back those days of being a first-time mom completely enamored with her child. Dr. Suess are such fun books to read!

The only ones I read was 'Horton Hears a Who' and 'Green Eggs and Ham' liking both. Of course I saw 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' movie, which I like very much. From what I understand it is the illustrations that were the cause to pull them and not the prose.

My favorite as a kid was "Yertle the Turtle," it's a certified jam.

When my kids were small they especially liked "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "The Lorax" and "The Sleep Book."

I liked The Cat in the Hat.  I watch the show at times.  Always that thing one and thing two.

"The Grinch that stole Christmas" was terrific.  As was "Hop on Pop" and "Horton hears a Who".  And never leave out "Green eggs and Ham" or "If I ran the zoo".

Oh, heck.  They're all so much fun!  Including the ones now declared to by "hurtful" and voluntarily banned.

One of the books declared hurtful was The Cat's Quizzler . . .

The study that found the Dr. Seuss problems says it was hurtful because:

[i]""In ("The Cat's Quizzer"), the Japanese character is referred to as 'a Japanese,' has a bright yellow face, and is standing on what appears to be Mt. Fuji," the authors wrote."]/i]

Geesh. A bright yellow face in a book of primary color characters.

GA, I have to praise you for looking into this book banning situation. It is so ridiculous.

I love "Horton hears a Who"! The Broadway musical is somewhat based on that book.

As I mentioned above, I love those stories. I also heard it was the illustrations that caused an opinion of sorts. The positive note is his books are selling and trending.
