    Mr. Archer needs our support.

I've read a few of his articles on his cancer and this one breaks my heart.

    Take a moment to read.

I've been following Mike's story and it breaks my heart. He's such a good, loving man. To be hit with a double whammy just isn't fair. Mike, if you read this thread, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm sorry you are going through this...Cancer is not a fun diagnosis.

It is awful that your employer has done this to you.

Please consult an attorney & see if you have any way of fighting this outcome. One that will do all the work for you...it may take a year, but go through the process.

We've been dealing with cancer since July of 2020, but his employer has been great.  He's been allowed to keep his health insurance.

I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and keep your head up.
Don't let this set you back.  Just stay on the right track for your cancer treatments.

    Sending you love and support.

What a heartbreaking and frustrating time Mr Archer. Being terminated at the same time you are going through cancer treatment..and just before Christmas. Why do things like this happen? Life can be totally unfair at time. Your staff sound like a great mob of people and I am glad they stood by you by also tendering their resignations. The new management equally heartless. Hang in there, lots of people will be praying for you.

Thank you very much for sharing this Brenda.

This is a heartbreaking tale. I am so frustrated by these large spending bills that will even give the rich a tax break, but what about someone like Mr. Archer? Why can't we take care of our own? Getting fired is awful when he is in for the battle of his life.

I agree.  It is horrible that anyone is treated in this manner.

Especially after devoting years of his life to work for them.

This is the much-beloved unregulated market capitalism that just grinds people up and spits them out.

This is a horrible situation. I
love the attitude of Mr. Archer's coworkers as they support him, though. Support from others is very important when life is difficult, even when it doesn't solve the problem that someone is experiencing.

I do like that they care enough about him to have his back, but what an awful Christmas season for so many.
I wish we were more than just a number to these companies we pour our sweat and life into everyday.
