How about a poem?

I was just reading through my Facebook feed getting some smiles and frowns too. What caught me was reading rags to riches stories, yet there were as many riches to rags stories too. So, how about a poem on both themes. Of course comes the complex perhaps soul searching philosophical question of which comes first; rags to riches or riches to rags. Remember as poets rags and riches could easily be metaphorical or a symbol of this or that. Go for it . . .

    Rags to riches,
    Riches to rags,
    Dust to dust
    In vacuum bags.

Nice Jodah! Reading it I immediately thought of Dust in the Wind by Kansas a (Don't have the words to explain) song. The link below is the official YouTube video for it. Thanks . . .

Also, love the violin solo in it.

If riches and rags go hand in hand,
This world will be a peaceful land.
Nobody is better than anybody else, and
Nobody is worse than everybody else.
If the time is right, you are the king.
You can become a beggar if the time shifts.
    History has frequently revealed
God's plan is always secure and concealed.
Finally, who is rich and who is poor?
They will both be buried in the same sand,
    Having completely empty hands....  smile

Like with Jodah immediately a song came to mind. Your poem raised in me Secrets Far Above the Clouds by  Mike Oldfield. Key to that song that hit me reading your poem was this stanza:

And the man in the rain picked up his bag of secrets,
      And journeyed up the mountainside,
      Far above the clouds,
And nothing was ever heard from him again,
      Except for the sound

For your listening pleasure the concert version link is next. It is 8 minutes long. Enjoy!

Hello, I find rags to riches stories intriguing and thought provoking. Some people are better off not having those riches once they achieve them. It can lead to self-destruction, friends coming out of the woodwork and then there are some stories that the person who became rich and help a lot of people giving back to where they once were.
