Ravi, This is a very good and Interesting story, that I hope is fiction. Forgiveness in any season is the healthy choice. This is an excellent response to Brenda's word prompt.

Very upbeat story on Season, Ravi. I liked the fact that the main character chose forgiveness over revenge in the season of Deepawali, a festival of lights. A perfect response to Brenda's prompt. Thank you for your story with a wonderful message.

Thank you, Brenda, for sharing Ravi's post.

      Hello Raviji!
An excellent response and engaging piece of writing. I liked it, that you ended it on a positive note. Forgiveness is self satisfying and should be practiced as much as possible.
Our holy scriptures and culture also teaches the same.
Great story telling here, which reminded me of my college days, and how scared we were of ragging. Thankfully, I didn’t face it, because I was a day scholar. Knowing some seniors also helped.
It’s banned and illegal now, and that’s really good.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful post.
      Thank you Brenda!

      Ravi...
      Oh wow!
      What an intense story.

It would be so difficult to come face to face with this opportunity & not take it.

      Albeit...he made the right choice.
      Forgiveness.

This definitely represents a season in someone's life.

The good, the excitement, the tragedy, and the revenge.

It show us such a great lesson.

      Thank you.

This is an impressive story. There’s quite a large Indo-Canadian community where I live, and Diwali is a popular celebration. I believe it’s the same as Deepawali, but please correct me if I’m wrong, Ravi. I am happy to learn more about the event. A season for forgiving sounds wonderful.

Yes, Misbah.Karma always returns to this earth only. We do not need to go to Heaven or hell for that

Yes, Linda. Deepawali and Diwali are the same. It is not only the festival of lights as it is popularly called but also a time of forgiveness where malice and hatred are pushed away and new beginnings are made. Thanks for your kind comments.

You got me hooked and kept reading. I enjoyed the flow of your story. Forgiveness is so important but hard to do. Sometimes, life has a way of softening the pain and the hardness of revenge.

      Ravi,
I found your story poignant and very moving. What a horrible experience. You shared it so beautifully. Your writing skill really pulled me into the story and made me feel the emotion and injustice. Coincidentally, I just saw a documentary film on hazing last Tuesday. I was stunned to see how bad it was on American campuses, especially with male fraternities. I never thought severe hazing occurred internationally at schools in other countries to that extent. I'm glad you survived your ordeal. So many students have died from hazing at American colleges, across all races, genders and cultures. God blessed your life with success and forgiveness. Thank you for sharing this amazing story with us.
