Genna, I loved the imagery and message in this poem. The invisible bond between the narrator and the seagull was beautiful.

Hi John.  Coming from one of my favorite poets, your encouraging comments warms the heart.  Nature is part of God’s gifts to us all – without which we cannot survive.  I only wish that mankind would stop taking it for granted, and destroying or ignoring it, thereby separating us from our life support systems.  All things exist in relationship.   Thank you, my friend, and best wishes.

    Hi Genna,
    Beautifully expressed poem.
I appreciate the important message conveyed through your insightful words.
We all must try our best to do, whatever little bit we can, to preserve and conserve Nature.
    Thank you for the reminder.
    Best wishes.

Wow! Genna, that was a beautiful read. I enjoyed the entire picturesque presentation of the scenery. It is a blissful connection between human and nature.

Thanks, John, for sharing the link.

Thank you, Venka, for reading this free verse and for your lovely comment.  Nature has such beauty...free, powerful, gentle and humbling.   I live near the ocean and always treasure moments such as what I experienced on that day.

I enjoyed living near the ocean during my childhood. We used to stand in the foam while waves were rushing towards the shore and receding fastly backwards. I lived there till my college education.

Such a beautiful poem, Genna, with so much meaning. Who could not look at the ocean and not feel the serenity and awe that it inspires? Your poem is an urgent and powerful appeal to mankind to wake up to what we may lose if we don’t act quickly and take care of the most valuable asset which we have been given- our beautiful planet and the awesome creatures that live here with us. We must act quickly or else we can lose what is ours to cherish, forever. Thank you Genna for your vision and beautiful writing and John for sharing.
