Graphic Novel Reviews: Superman/Batman Vol. 2 Supergirl

Updated on September 8, 2014

Graphic Novel Reviews Part 2: Superman/Batman, Vol. 2 Supergirl

This is the second book of this series of Superman/Batman. And, I believe this is the first graphic novel I bought for myself. A great one in fact. With a retelling of Supergirl's origin. And, some of the best art work by MIchael Turner Brought out by the colors of Peter Steigerwald. The thing about graphic novels is that you don't have to read every single Book in a series to get the story. This book fits into that category with it's very own story from start to end.

Jeph Loeb is the writer and I love the thought bubbles of Superman and Batman. You get a real understanding on how the two view each other and the situation they are put in. A definite must read for DC fans. Great visually as well as story line.

A little Bit of the Plot

Yes this is a Superman Batman novel but it does revolve mostly around Supergirl. She is the important character throughout the whole book. From Batman being suspicious of her and Superman embracing her and the main villain Dark Seid trying to use her power. While Wonder Woman makes an appearance as well as other characters and villains. She tries to teach young Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) to fight as an amazon and control her abilities. Which is a good thing because Clark (Superman) had a lifetime in controlling his powers. With Kara being even stronger than Clark makes her more dangerous.

I always like the combination of these two heroes... The best that DC has to offer joining forces... I like seeing them in comic books, tv series, or movies...
