What's the best blender do you prefer for making smoothies, slushies and milkshakes?

To make my new kitchen complete in my apartment, I need a blender, since I threw out my mom's last year, when I've cleaned out her junk. I know they're expensive, and would probably get money from my dad or wait until Christmas to get one. Do you prefer a regular blender or Vitamix or the Ninja Blender series?

I like my Ninja and they've really come down in price.

Same here.  I bought mine through the online sale at Target and selected store pickup instead of delivery. Went right down and picked it up.

We love our Vitamix 750! We knew we could take it back within 30 days if we didn't think it was worth the price. We tried everything we could think of in that 30 days and now we use it every day at least once just because we got in the habit.

Actually whatever blender I had worked good for smoothies, slushies and milkshakes.

We have a NutriBullet and it's great. We even use it for grinding coffee.
