I don't believe there are best colors. You need to think about the colors you love and what you already have in your home and accent those colors. I love different woods and wood stains. you get color but can still see the grain. You can also pull from a blanket or bedding or curtains and paint the piece to match. I hope this helps. My suggestion is to use brighter colours and tones. This creates the feeling of more space, so if your room or place is small this will help, indeed.
