Frankly, there is no easy stay-at-home job. In most cases, you're going to work a lot harder and a lot longer hours staying at home than if you were in a "9-5." That said, there are many different freelancing options, depending on your personal strengths. I'd suggest looking through some of the types of jobs listed in freelancing marketplaces such as Elance, Guru, and oDesk and learn about the skills needed for each job to determine which ones might work for you. I warn you, though, that I spent quite some time as a single stay-at-home mother freelancing full-time...we were always living from one paycheck to the next (probably the case anyway at the moment for you), it was very high-stress because I always knew that if I couldn't find the jobs then we wouldn't eat, and I was always up for hours after my son went to bed and up again well before he got up to be able to fit a full work day around his sleep schedule. I got very little sleep, was extremely drug out all the time, and had a really hard time enjoying the time I had with my son, but we were able to keep the bills paid.

Your best bet is to probably look at writing articles. You can get paid anywhere from 2 bucks to 5 bucks (or more) for a 500 word article. Granted it's not a fortune, but if you are a fast writer, you can make a decent full time income or at least supplemental income.
