When reading things on the Internet, you need to be aware of the source of the information, and whether this source is reliable or not. For example, I would trust information I found on a university website, but would be less likely to trust information found on the website of an anonymous person.
I agree with sasanqua, it all depends on the souce.
There is a lot of spam to sift through before you get to the facts on some matters.
