I really appreciate the insights already shared here, financial independence and planning are especially important for single women, whether you're navigating your 30s or planning for retirement later on.

One thing I’ve found helpful in my own experience is working with a financial advisor who truly understands the unique challenges single women face. For example, there’s often only one income to plan around, and you might be balancing everything from career transitions to caregiving responsibilities. Having a personalized strategy makes a big difference, not just for budgeting, but for long-term goals like investing smartly, planning for healthcare, and even early retirement.

RetireStrong Financial Advisors offers a supportive and approachable way to start building that kind of plan. They’re really focused on empowering individuals to take control of their future without feeling overwhelmed. Their website has helpful resources that walk you through everything from basic financial literacy to long-term investment strategies.

The key is not waiting for the “right moment” or more stability. Start where you are, get advice tailored to your situation, and build from there. It can be incredibly empowering to feel like you’re steering your own financial ship, especially when you're doing it solo.

Financial planning for single women is no different than for anyone else.

    Here are my 7 steps:

    1.  Remove yourself from the situation.
    2.  Be a giver.
    3.  Live on less than you earn.
    4.  Have a written plan.
    5.  Work with someone.
    6.  Have a long-term vision to live debt free.
    7.  Take care of your immediate family first.

    1) Don't expect some Prince Charming to bail you out after many years of travel and "kicky" shoes you can't really afford.
    2) Learn about investing.  There are savvy female role models (Suzy Orman and many others)
