I don't think any one person has "control" of the money in my family. I handle all the bills and manage the bank accounts, but my wife still has control of the money. Everyone has control of the money and we both make the budget together. I handle the investing though.
My husband and I are a partnership so I sort of balk at the term "control." I handle the money in our household because my husband has no interest in money management. He has told me many times, he just wants to know if there is enough money to get certain things for his hobbies. It has worked well for us over 43 years of marriage.
Me, the wife. My husband and I check the accounts when we want something to see what we want to spend. But I usually just give him some money for groceries and I pay the bills.
