One way to save money on gas is through fuel reward programs.  Many supermarkets and gas stations offer gas discounts such as Acme, Albertsons, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Sunoco, Krogers, Giant, Exxon, Shell; and the Plenti reward program also offers discounts on gas.

Thanks for commenting, that's a very good suggestion! Does that make a big impact on your gasoline costs? By using only one gas provider and their rewards program what is a typical yearly savings one could expect?

We are always concerned about fuel consumption in our Motorhome as they are notorious fuel guzzlers. One way to get better mileage per gallon is to drive slower. We cut back to 55-60 mph and find that it does save fuel. Aggressive driving will also use more fuel, so don't jam on the brakes at the last minute or accelerate too quickly. Cutting wind resistance will increase gas mileage -- don't carry cargo on top of your vehicle if you can avoid it.

We also use discount programs like Flying J's  and use a credit card that gives cash back rewards. It all helps!

Thanks for sharing, those are some really good points! I think driving style makes a huge impact. Seems like rather than worrying about one factor, many small factors keep dollars in your pocket.

Well, I did write a hub on silly ways to save on gas, but I'm not trying to get anyone to follow the suggestions therin, since some could be lethal.
