The Truth about the Lies

The origins of hatred, bigotry, and intolerance

A product of mankind itself.

These are strictly human emotions and certainly non relevant in the spiritual realm.

Voting on equal rights? Really?

The neo GOP platform is based on outright lies. Do people really believe them? Only the ignorant and uninformed do.

Hatred: What is it? Where does it come from? Who teaches it? Why?

Hatred is an emotion born out of ignorance, misunderstanding, lack of compassion, lack of education and fear. It is an intense hostility and aversion usually derived from fear, anger or a real or perceived sense of injury, or a continued threat of harm.

Hate implies an emotional aversion coupled with enmity or malice (ex: usually in response to being wronged of harmed in some way).

Abhorrence implies deep repugnance (ex: feelings about a crime that evokes an emotional response toward violent crimes; mass murderers, serial killers, rape/murder of a child, etc..)

Abomination implies strong detestation and often moral condemnation. (ex: incest).

Loathe implies utter disgust and intolerance. (ex: by self-appointed moral guardians)

Detest implies violent antipathy. (ex: the dislike for cowards).

As noted above, hate usually arises from a particular event, or events, that have a negative impact on the hater, or on society as a whole. [Definitions courtesy of Webster dictionary]

"Unfounded, or illogical hatred" arises from a 'perceived' or 'imagined' threat to a person or toward society itself. It has no solid basis in reality or logic. As is the hatred toward homosexuals. This one is vigorously and erroneously being 'taught' by religious zealots.

A Zealot is a member of a fanatical sect arising in Judea during the first century A.D. and militantly opposing the Roman domination of Palestine; esp: a fanatical partisan or fanatical devotion. [again, courtesy of Websters dictionary]

At the turn of the first century A.D. there were no laws governing homosexuality and it was accepted as a natural part of existence.

When the Judeo-Christians were trying to build their armies to fight Roman oppression, the religious leaders made a church decree that [man would not sleep with another man] in order to procreate and thus build up their legions. When this decree was ignored, the church then declared it a "church law" punishable by excommunication.

And thus the discrimination began. As each generation came and went, these teachings lost their original meaning and were taught as "God's law" instead of the reality of it being 'man's law' based solely on the need to control the behaviors of the populace to better serve the needs of the government and its Roman Catholic Church.

Then the brainwashing was complete. Throughout the ensuing centuries the religious zealots found that they had more complete control over their 'flock of sheep' by imparting the "fear of God" into their teachings. { ''God hates this...., God hates that... , if you do it you will be punished forever in hell, or for X number of years in purgatory, depending on the severity of the 'sins', blah, blah, blah... ")

Thus, the fear and guilt was systematically being instilled into the minds of the gullible, [now an integral part of religion], was passed from generation to generation. And is still used today, with effectiveness, even though quite irrational in its origins, and toward whoever that hate was directed.

Stuck in the past

With the discovery of genetics and genetic inheritance it truly amazing that these old tedious and illogically irrelevant beliefs are still being maintained today.

One would surmise that this speaks to the poor quality of our educational system, or at the very least, the slanted versions of history still being taught in our society today. Especially with the continuation of the religious ignorance being brainwashed into the christian babies (as well as all other religions') and their creation of those "children of the corn".

I will continuously assert that the only true obstacle toward mankind's inevitable progression into the future is the antithetical teachings by the churches in an attempt to maintain their control over the masses ( masses being the people, not ceremonies), and the need to have a scapegoat group, to preach their condemnations about.

Therefore it is apparent that until the church reverses its fundamental brainwashing techniques on the unsuspecting kids of the sheep of our society, this hatred, bigotry and intolerance will persist for many more generations to come.

Like a cancer in our society, it will have to be eradicated before the healing process can begin to take place.

The scientific findings, of the reality of things, are still suspect and discounted by the religious leaders, and surprisingly the majority of their followers.

No-one in the scientific community will have the fortitude (guts) to make any statement that might discredit religious dogma or that might place themselves in a more precarious position in society than they already are when it comes to religion and its ability to control their parishioners through unfounded fear.

They could be put in a position of loss of funding, which is way more important than that of stopping the hatred and fear of the unknown. It is much easier to allow the hatred to continue on an ambiguous group of people that do not directly touch their lives than it would be if these were family members. And even at that, most religious folks readily turn their backs on their own relatives that are gay.

Until then, the responsibility rests on a government that is so fearful of the repercussions from the religious communities that they do nothing to uphold a constitution that says it provides "equal rights and equal protection" under the law for all of the people, when in fact it does not.

Sadly enough, those repercussions are only monetary and political, but in a world that is totally consumed by materialistic values and where Greed is God, no-one wants to lose their social status by standing up for what is right and proper for EVERY citizen.

God bless America!! And especially the gay community.
