The Morning Conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama #4
February 21, 2011 - Movies
A fictional account of the private morning conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama by Dexter Yarbrough. Fourth in a series.
Michelle: You look sad this morning.
Barack: This budget flap with the GOP is bothersome, the Wisconsin Governor won't compromise on collective bargaining and the Middle East is a powder keg.
Michelle: It will all work out. You have good people around you to help.
Barack: Yep. Sometimes I wonder if our allies around the world are so because they support us or fear us. The former is wonderful. The latter is what concerns me.
Michelle: Don't worry about it. Tell me, what is your all time favorite movie?
Barack: No one can have just one favorite movie.
Michelle: I do. 'To Kill A Mockingbird' is my all time favorite. It has suspense, racial injustice, sexual innuendo, action, courtroom drama and retribution.
Barack: I disagree. The black man, who was obviously innocent, was convicted and later killed. It's depressing.
Michelle: That's why it is so great. It has all the elements of human tragedy.
Barack: The best movie of all time is 'E.T. the Extra Terrestrial!'
Michelle: What?!!!
Barack: Yeah, that's right! This movie is inspirational and it shows true friendship and love!
Michelle: I couldn't stand that ugly little creature. It reminded me of this girl I had a fight with in high school. Lord was she ugly! You could roll her face in some dough and make gorilla cookies!
Barack: Ha ha ha ha!!!!
Michelle: I have to question your taste in movies. At least with mine, it was based on some real incidents that happened in America. A little creature coming here in a spaceship, getting lost and needing to PHONE HOME, is stupid!
Barack: Well Michelle, you don't get to see the top secret documents I get to look at. You would be surprised. Do you know what really happened to JFK?
Michelle: Uhhh, I don't really want to know.
Barack: Yeah, it's probably best.
Michelle: Cheer up and have a good day. Like I said, things will work out.
Barack: My second best movie is 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon!' Great storyline, magnificent action moves!
Michelle: Get out!
Barack: Off to the Cabinet Meeting. Love ya!
Michelle: I love you, too!
