Is it hypocritical for those who didn't support 9/11 responder aid to capitalize on 9/11 grieving?

"For me, this is a day to remember those who perished on that day of terror, including the first responders." -Paul Ryan who twice voted against the Zadroga Act "...We honor those who fought to try to save some of those who died..." -Eric Cantor who twice voted against the Zadroga Act

    Hi Jdavis.

No one said the other side was doing it for the goodness of their heart. 155 republicans voted against it with 4 democrats as well.

How do they justify memorial and not life support? politics aside, is it hypocritical of the individual?

    hi Billy,

All true in my opinion. The question is not why they didnt vote for the bill. The question is are they hypocritical for courting people's grief when they would not support the families in a meaningful way.
