    What say you?

Opponents of Obama have often found themselves facing charges related to divorce filings shortly before election dates. Was it ok to do back then? Is it ok to do now?

Actually the scandals in the past were not divorce scandals (in an age where most marriages end in a divorce it's hardly a scandal to be divorced) but rather because in one someone was accused of hitting their wife (violence against a woman is a scandal) and the other was a Republican who had taken his wife to sex clubs etc. which is always way more damaging to a Republican candidate as "family values" champions.

Either way the Obama's considering a divorce many years back but patching up their marriage is hardly news I doubt anyone would much care, most people who have had long marriages have had tough patches.

So, a man who has been divorced how many times thinks this is news that should hurt Obama? I didn't read the articles, I like to ignore Mr. Trump...

What if the papers list domestic violence on the part of Barack for reasons?

Also, just because one partner claims the other did something, doesn't make it true. Divorces are messy, people lie.

lol I'm sorry, but I think Michelle could whip Barack's a$$. I never noticed until last night how narrow his shoulders are. I've never seen any sign of violence in the man.

I haven't read the link, but if it's true that they were considering divorce, I don't see it as a big deal. Kudos to them for working it out. Marriage can be tough.

When someone files for divorce, they will often either air all the dirty laundry(usually exaggerated), or make stuff up.

It's just interesting that the same kind of thing that ended up getting Obama into the Senate could possibly end up keeping him out of the Presidency...

I've heard Michelle was the one who filed the papers, so who knows what she said.

Yeah, I'd read before that the O-man got down and dirty in those campaigns.

Against Jack Ryan in 2004, a judge released records that Jack and his wife had both agreed to be sealed originally, and both fought them being released publicly.

The Chicago Tribune had sued to have them released, basically it was a perfect example of dirty politics and in all probability a dirty judge.

The same thing happened earlier in the primaries. Blair Hull had information from his sealed divorce proceedings leaked by the Chicago Tribune, and the reporter later said that the push came from Obama's campaign.

The one that I found so disgusting was the child custody case. Can't remember if that was Ryan or Hull. Imagine how that impacted the child (or children).

                    Ryan.

He campaigned against those kinds of documents coming out in elections because of what it did.

Wowie! I guess MO really was pissed at Barack's first debate performance on their anniversary, eh?
    lol

Meanwhile, on the other side of this contest, we have Gloria Alred.
I think many (not sure if I can claim "most") see Trump as having damaged his credibility with the birther brigade and not likely to take ANYTHING he tweets seriously.

    But Gloria... she's a shark.
We saw her in her 'glory' during the last CA gubernatorial race. Meg Whitman, despite sinking record millions of her own $  into her campaign, ultimately got sunk by "Nannygate."
It was brutal to watch. I stopped short of feeling sorry for her, though.

So we have dueling October Surprises in the making!
Is it November 7th yet? PLEEZ???!!!!

I agree though. Marriage can be tough, I'm proud of anyone who works it out.

Trump and Obama are getting divorced? I didn't even know they were married.  I guess it was one of those quickie immigration marriages so that Obama could get citizenship through Trump by marriage.

lol The Donald left Obama for Mitt. You know - they have all that gorgeous cash in common, and Trump covets Romney's hair.
