Were I the parent of that child and the child of the Grandparent woe betide the Principle. Barefootfae don't play this stuff.
What would Barefootfae do? I am so curious.
Probably wind up on the nightly news.
What that was was a load of politically correct BS.
I totally agree.
The Left is messing with children's rights and their heads, in several different ways, from abortion to school activities. I call them cowards, because that's one of the main ways they push their agenda-----through children.
Oddly enough, I find myself in agreement with the rightwinger in this case. There is a fine line between 'mentioning God' and indoctrination of children to adhere to a particular faith, that is establishment.
I don't care how many times God is mentioned, just keep promotion of a religious faith and its tenets at home or in your church
My issue as always is ESTABLISHMENT!
Totally agree with Barefootmae, nothing is wrong with the mention of God. What are these people thinking? I am a Liberal and I found this to be quite unnerving to say the least. The child has a right to freedom of expression, she did not harm anyone else in the process!
Yeah, she wasn't preaching or anything. She was mentioning her relative's faith, pretty much just stating a fact of the man the essay was about.

Is religion taught from birth a form of brainwashing? If you teach a child from birth a particular religion, is this not brainwashing? Would that child discover that religion on their own if it's something they weren't taught?

The indoctrination of children. Is it right or wrong?I would argue that force feeding a child any doctrine - whether political or religious - to be brainwashing of the worst kind. Consider these two statements. 1) Train up the child in the way he should go ; and when he is old he will not depart...

This is how children in the Arab Muslim world are taught to treat the non-believers and the Jews. Beware!!! This is extremely graphic. but this is the true face of Islam!!!THIS IS NOT FOR CHILDREN, NOR THE WEAK OF HEART.<snipped - if it's objectionable content, then don't link to it here>

Why Do Parents Send Their Children To Christian Schools?I personally think that each person should have to choice to partake in any (or no) religion of their choosing. It is a very personally matter that should be made individually. So it really bugs me when evangelical parents send their kids to...
