The man walked up to me brave as can be. He looked me in the eye and he somehow demanded respect. I was taken aback and just the right amount of fearful. The man stood his ground put out his hand and demanded, "give it to me now". I am 220 lbs, 55 years old, six foot, and my nose has been broken 6 times. I can carry 60 lbs and make 12 tough miles a day.
The question is: Who was this man?
My 3 year old.
A hit man
A gang member
or a Cop?
My guess would be a cop.
?
A 3-yr-old is not a man. But maybe you're like a lot of fathers who call their sons "little man"?...........
You didn't mention anything about a gun or knife or other weapon, so I'm thinkin' it wasn't a hit man or gang member, because that's what it would've taken to intimidate you, right? (Unless it was one of those and that's the reason they "somehow demanded respect"........?)
So that leaves the cop, whose presence would automatically demand (or command) respect.
Very cool and astute -- I contemplated "command" and retracted. Perhaps only a child demands things. Truth not a physical weapon. I am fifty five I wonder what would intimidate me?
I would say it is a cop.. a three year old doesn't know how to demand respect they just want love.
the copy would demand respect.
a gang member and or a hit man wouldn't care if you respected them they would just kill you
so my answer is cop.
Deborah, perhaps some misconception here. Gangs are built on fear and respect. Of course we hate them but they have that in their core, from Cartels to Triads to LA Cripts. Interesting take on little boys who stand with their hands on hips and purse their lips. Maybe they do not demand.
Too funny, I wrote a whole hub on that once.
It was the great and mighty Kamina, the badass embodiment of masculinity with a burning soul, leader of the Dai-Gurren Brigade, known far and wide as the manliest man to have ever breached the Earth's surface! Who the hell do you think we are?!
...So yeah, it was Kamina.
That isn't one of the choices in the multiple-choice answering section. ha.
I could not judge that, perhaps shift/shape changing I think I do not know Kamina, but does Kamina know me.
Zellkiiro this could be so true. What mysteries and powers these being possess. Even if it was another it be be Kamina.
Fair enough. I will relate that to my wife who is a taxpreparer.

Another example of unreasonable (and therefore unlawful) force being used by a police officer who was evidently away on the day they covered "de escalation" at the academy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R46-XTqXkzE

What do you think it means to respect someone? Should it be earned, given, demanded? Why?Abviously, most people think that we should respect one another. I'm wondering what it means to you. I'm asking everyone, but also those who believe in the Bible. The Bible has some things to say about it, what...

Women: Do you believe it's true that you have to "train" a man?I've heard women on more than one occasion talking among themselves where one advises another: "You have to train a man." or "Teach a man how to treat you." Personally speaking I would think if you have to...
