Yahoo reported:
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is accepting the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder and praising him for his deep commitment to ensuring all Americans receive equal justice under the law. The president said during an East Room ceremony that it was a "bittersweet moment" to accept Holder's resignation after six years on the job. But he added that he was glad Holder would stay on until a successor is confirmed. Obama praised Holder for his track record in a variety of areas, especially for reinvigorating the defense of civil rights.
Anyone have any idea of what happened? I didn't see this one coming. Can anyone provide an explanation for the resignation?
I Thank him for his service and hope he stay long enough charge and convict the 911 caller and the police that killed the young man with the b-b gun( He wasn't stealing from Walmart) in his hand in an Open Carry State. The New York Times said his resignation was expected. The paper reported today, “Mr. Holder’s resignation was not a surprise; he had said previously that he planned to leave office by the end of 2014 after six years in the job.”{1}
The Huffington Post had this to say: “Holder discussed his plans with Obama on several occasions over the last few months, and finalized his decision at the White House residence over Labor Day weekend, according to a DOJ official. If Holder stays in office until December, he will become the third-longest serving attorney general in the history of the United States” {2}.

Yeah, the elections are in less than 2 months and they know they are going to lose the senate. Obama wants to push through a successor that he knows the GOP senate would never confirm. Of course, he will be picking that person with the sage advice of Al Sharpton himself, God help us all.
