What are the first 3 things that you would do if you have a million dollars?
Of course, this question is not for those who have arrived!
firstly i would buy a music studio for budding artist for their session works.
secondly i would buy a duplex apartment and make my dad proud .
thirdly ..a nice little family car
and with whats left will got to the income tax dept ..hahaha **
Split it with my better half so I don't spend it all. Would try to do some good with it by investing it wisely. Have seen quite a few people that inherit money, first thing they do is go out and buy a bunch of toys that sit there and depreciate. Next thing you know they are broke and selling there toys just to make ends.
Is,that a million dollars in American money?
If,it is ,I would
1. buy some gold and silver
2. pay off any outstanding debt
3. invest in sustainable alternative energy technology
1. Quit my day gig and practice writing full time.
2. Identify a great non-profit organization and make its day.
3. Invest the rest.
take a two month vacation
pay off my house
invest in real estate
A million dollars? That is "chump change". One needs at least US$10,000,000 to be wealthy. Raise your sights, folks! :-)
The first thing anyone should do is to look into getting it out of reach of the parasitical tax collecting bureaus.
The second thing is to initiate a learning about managing your money.
Third, whatever....
American dollars? - Invest in Euros (it will go back up - Europe don't owe billions to China)
Depends. Are you giving me 1 million dollars or did I work hard for this money? And will I be getting another million any time soon
I have sponsored children, I cannot hardly afford to keep....sponsor them for life!!!!!
start my own business, so I can take care of my kids
and 3....volunteer work....I love it, but its hard when you have to support your kiddos!!!!!
Thanks my friends for all your comments. As I am allowed only one comment here by the system, I shall elaborate a lttile bit and also share my thoughts.
I know US$1 million is not much. But still not many have this much. I don't. So this is a realistic figure for the average person.
If I have the million, I shall do the first 3 things:
1. give some to deserving charities, and help others in need.
2. change my old junk (car)
3. invest part of it wisely
Get it out of the reaches of the unpredictable and ever changing tax code. (if that is possible)
Start a charitable micro-credit foundation
Find a way to get others to get a million bucks just like me.
If I will get a million dollars, will be great!!!!!
1. 10% I will spend on friends and strangers in need, pay some of they bills,or surprize them with something.I was told, when unexpected money, come in your hand, first thing give something away, make someone happy.
2.Pay of my debts, personal and business
3.Invest in Real Estate.
1. Make financial investment to maintain my million dollars
2. Buy a pink lamborghini
3. Give about 200k to Lupus Research.
1.help my parents, sister and friends.
2.buy a house
3.have a vacation
1) give some to my family
2) secure my finances (pay off debt/invest rest)
3) charity
1. I will buy all electronic gadgets (like ipad, ipod, e-readers, palmtop and laptop).
2. 1/4th of it to charity.
3.And rest to the family
The three things that I would do if I had a million dollars!
Well first I would pay off all my debts then I would invest it wisely and finally I would half all my investment profit and donate it to charity or 50% of all my earnigs which in turn would give me a good tax break and do some good deeds as well.
1. Find out how much money I would have to pay in taxes.
2. Pay those taxes
3. Of the remainder, save half and then make a bucket list for the remainder.
By paying the taxes I would not have to go to prison like that naked guy from Survivor, Richards or whatever.
A million dollars is a small sum arrived at by means of winning an award? If so the three things I would do are: book myself a regular beauty therapist/hairdresser, book myself a regular movie ticket, book myself a new camera and some photography hot spots (travel included), and put those photos for a slide show of some sort. and some in the kitty for daily expenses because eating is a necessity.
1.) Pray that the money would not change me like I've seen it do to so many people.
2 ) Invest some so my money is working for me and growing.
3 ) Find a local organization that needs donations and give them a donation.
1 million dollars it is not enough thou. But if that so, I would do in three things;
1). To pay my debts
2). To help my family needs
3). To start own bar business
so if, get profit... i can buy everything
i need and to help others who really need
my help!!!!
Get a heart attack and spend a sizable amount I received in medical treatment!
Give it Away! You' re better without it. Help others first. Learn to grow it to help others that are impoverished in India, a child without a home or food, homeless in your own back yard....help a soup kitchen or bring them food, buy a digital camera for someone in a poor land than can make a living from it. Before, I had 3 million dollars.....now I realize, so sorry to say, I am better 'without it!' but I can always grow it back again if I really need it to help others. But I can do this everyday to so many if I look. In a way its so bad the economy has gotten 'bad' its 'good' too if you can look to see all that part of it and how it can truly benefit you.
You guys think big. I would pay off my debts, take my friends to dinner, and buy some new clothes. The fourth thing might be more ambitious.
1. Get Completely Out of Debt.
2. Invest it
3. Live off the proceeds
Number one would be to buy a new car. Of course, it'd be something I'd keep for 10 years probably. Second would be to pay off my house. Why have a mortgage if you don't have to? Third would be to invest the remainder wisely so as to not have to worry about money going forward.
Buy property and watch the money grow even further. And buy a series of classic cars.
1)Use it to make another million dollars.
2)Then invest heavily into solid start-up green tech. companies.
3)While investing into other tech. thats established.
When you have money, investing can be the same as giving to charity by investing in green tech. and tech. that is genuinely trying to make the world a better place and/or simply provide a positive and financialy beneficial work enviroment...

You aren't much of a gambler but you decide to buy one lotto ticket. You check up on the numbers a few days later, well after the lotto has taken place, and what do you know? You won!!! You are the newest lotto winner!! To keep things very simple lets say, after taxes, you come out with $1 million....
