Do you think the government has a plan to implement depopulation ? Just curious once again.

ITs been going on for decades...duh...legalized abortion and manipulation of foods, just to name two.

I'd be interested to see the other 18.

Certainly there are population issues involved in legalized abortion, but if you study countries where abortion is currently illegal you'll find that the rate of abortion is not significantly lower than it is here, but the maternal mortality rate is much higher, as is the rate of serious complications resulting in infertility. Illegal abortions are responsible for 13% of all maternal deaths worldwide, killing 70,000 women a year.

So you could just as easily make a case that anti-abortion advocates support depopulation, because they support killing two people instead of one in many cases, and increasing the number of women who are unable to have any more children.

I don't buy manipulation of food as a conspiracy theory either, unless you mean a conspiracy to make as much money as possible and damn the consequences. Food companies are just doing the same thing the tobacco companies did for decades - hiding the evidence that they're killing people for as long as possible while paying off politicians to look the other way. It's not a conspiracy to depopulate the planet, it's just greed, plain and simple.

Hmmm, If someone presented a case regaurding depopulation, would you look at it with an open mind ? I know depopulation seems outragous, but perhaps the outragous,..isn't so outragous after all.

What about staying and fighting?  If it came to that, I wonder how much of the military would turn against a tyrannical government.

I'd fight,..You can take my life, but not my freedom !!!! As for the Military stepping up and fighting,..I did a poll on that and it's pretty well split half and half.

curiozitiesposted 14 years agoin reply to this

That being the case, I'd think we'd win then.  If most of the armed citizens and half the military fight against half the military and only a few armed citizens who support a tyrannical state, then we have a fighting chance.

We're depopulating already.  Birth rates are under 2.0 which means that we're not even replacing our dead.  The only reason we were growing in population is because of immigration, which has tapered off since our economic meltdown.  If anything expect breeding programs or enforced migration.  If things get bad enough the border walls won't be to keep people out, but to keep us in.

I don't really see why America may need a depopulation at this time. Chine, India - this may make sense, America? - nowhere close.

Environmentalists would say the whole world needs population control - but most Western countries are already "depopulating" naturally, because the birth rate has dropped so dramatically in the last century.

I don't know about America - maybe someone else does? But certainly in Europe, so many people don't have children at all, or only have one, that the population would be dropping dramatically if it wasn't for immigration.

I do hope you're not believing anything that Dan Brown writes about is true?   He would be the first to tell you that all his works are complete fiction, including most of the groups he writes about, and the conspiracy theories have all been debunked long ago.  They're just good yarns.

If you are talking about depopulation, you could nuke a country like North Korea (then they will nuke you back) or Antartica (United Nations will come to get you) or start a religious war. I'm sure that will turn world population from 7 billion to 7 million in 7 days and 7 nights.

    1. tksensei profile image60

Depopulation is inevitable; the only variable in the equation is the timeline.  Maybe when Earth becomes altogether unihabitable (no, not like certain relatives in the Here and Now--actually worse than that if you can believe it).

I'll to with, um, major depopulation (like down to zero) to happen in about...432,000 years from now.

A theory...I think we will lose natural resources first...rather by a cataclysmic event...or the sheer numbers will consume them. At that point people will no longer be able to exist...essentially it will become survival of the fittest. Perhaps weapons will be directed at one another (countries or individuals) and perhaps they will be fired....in any event there will be a core group of survivors and then the counter will be reset....call it Armageddon...Ragnarok...whatever your particular brand of vodka may be.

      1. Pamda Man profile image59
Pamda Manposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Nope, there's a thing called negative feedback in this universe. Everything is balanced. So when natural resource is all consumed, then our population will drop. After a long time, the natural resource grows back, our population increases.

Nobody said anything about America. Not everything is about America you know? America isn't the greatest to start with.

Perhaps you misread....the population will drop of course...more than likely go underground. The world will heal....then the cycle begins again.

          1. Pamda Man profile image59
Pamda Manposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Then your wording is incorrect. Armageddon is defined as the end of everything, no survivors. So is Ragnarok.

            1. profile image0
Sidney Rayneposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Not that I feel like there is any point in arguing something that I clearly stated as a theory of mine...but Ragnarok is based on the world being engulfed in flames or water depending on where you get your definition. Afterward, the world resurfaces...the surviving gods meet, and the world is repopulated by two human survivors.

America doesnt need to depop[ulate there are enough place for more people.
just go to wikipedia and try countries and look for Density in usa    31/km2  or 80/sq mi
    france 115/km2 or 297/sq mi
