Stay on message. The issue is the Federal Government co-opting 17% of the economy. The issue is personal freedoms eroding.

Let them whine about a few vocal people at town hall meetings.

    Stay on message.

It's sad in a way.  The Republicans are dead and don't even know it.  A party that started with Lincoln and ended with Bush........You have fallen so far.

Mark it down.  There will never be another Republican president.

Doesn't really matter, do you think the Dems are going to stay in power after the last couple of fiascoes?  Wait till the banks go insolvent.

What I'm concerned about is getting in the Republican version of Papa Obama, the neocons.  The Dems are the welfare part and the Republicans are the warfare part of the welfare-warfare state.  At least the radicals on both sides are anyway.

Are you that brain dead.  Just wait until the elections in November.  It's pretty much a tossup to see if the Democrats can keep any kind of a majority in Congress.  Ignore the tea party, protests against Obamacare, etc.  Ignoring those will come back to haunt you.  Opposition to Bush is not the same thing as the acceptance of Progressive ideals.  The Dems would have been smart to understand that, but instead they claimed a "mandate from the people" and managed to piss a lot of them off.  2012 will be interesting.  It took Bush 8 years to piss people off this badly and Obama has done it in less than a year.  There's a lesson there if you have the wit to see it.

How can one white person making a comment about another white person, or group of predominantly white people, be RACIST???

    1. ledefensetech profile image68
ledefensetechposted 14 years agoin reply to this

      Racism is a mindset.

If I said that about a black man, added comments about fried chicken and watermelon, I'd be pilloried.  Just because a racist comment doesn't meet your definition of racism the mindset is still that of a racist.

  10. Mighty Mom profile image80

But what PGrundy said does not meet your standards of racism. She is not categorizing everyone who is "white" as "pasty-faced." She is selecting a segment of the white (presumably MALE) American population who happen to have a commonality that they control the nation's money.

Racism paints an entire group of people by the same brush based solely on their RACE. The group Pam describes is not a RACE.
They seem to think they are (the master one) but they are not!

I sincerely hope Merriam-Webster is a good enough reference source for you both:
    Main Entry: rac·ism
    Pronunciation: \ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi-\
    Function: noun
    Date: 1933
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

    — rac·ist  \-sist also -shist\ noun or adjective

Gentlemen, I know Pam Grundy and she ain't no RACIST. And I'm not gonna stick around and debate this FACT with you today. Enjoy each other's company.

You got who the majority voted for.   If one doesn't like that, then do better the next time.  The Republicans had a pretty good chance of getting a president elected, except they make the wrong choices in McCain and Palin.

McCain had too many enemies among the voters and Palin was too far to the right, where the Republican Party seems to be edging with  greater velocity.

Yes, the Democrats have often edged too far to the left, but somehow common sense took over and they learned they had to appeal to the great MIDDLE, the Independents and Moderates.

Many among the Republicans are either aware of how some pundits like Limbaugh ruin your party's chances with the middle, or they actually believe he is either (a) good for the party, or (b) represents what should be the core values of the party.

I am sure that Abe Lincoln would have had him jailed without bail under the sedition laws enacted by Lincoln during the Civil War because a Limbaugh would be dangerous for the party & the nation.  Maybe instead of a Reagan you need to find another Lincoln, someone who lives his values, unlike so many politicians of both parties.

Yes, Dems also mess up, but the difference to many is that when a Republican chastises everyone else about morals and family values, and then gets caught with his oants down, it smacks of hypocrisy, and from what I know of most Americans, they don;t like hypocrits of any political stripe.

If you REALLY care about America, then start finding the common ground and work hard at putting aside your petty differences and make America great again, because it sure doesn't look great from the outside.

Lincoln did enough damage.  What we really need is another Jefferson.  Have you read his letters, by chance.  Interesting stuff.  He laments the fact that his anti-federalists campaigned on the promise to end Federalist policies, but once in power began busily expanding them.  Nothing corrupts like power.

ledefensetechposted 14 years agoin reply to this

It can, I suppose.  Much would depend on the personality of the organizer.  Yet the community organizer can do much less damage than even a US President with Lincoln's power, much less the virtual King we have today.  For one, you can always ignore the community organizer.  You can't ignore the King, he can have you locked up or shot.

I'm not so sure about your microbe theory.  How do you know it isn't nanotech robots?  I imagine the targeting system on that would be more specific than what you'd find on a microbe.  Plus machines don't mutate like organisms do.  You wouldn't want your microbe to shift on you and start attacking your people, would you?
