How do you socialise?
There are ways of saying things to people, where do you learn what is appropriate to avoid thoughtlessly saying something that sounded ok in your head?
I'm pretty bad at saying things that might be offensive to some. The thing is that I'm nearly always saying what I think is true, but sometimes it comes out before it's been cleared for social acceptance and non offensiveness.
Read them well before you call them friend and save yourself a lot of sorries down the road. If they act like a nut then they are,,just ask them about me, lol.
Really listen to the person you are talking to and ask them questions that are not too personal. Find something you genuinely like about the person and say so. They can tell if you are searching for something to say or really mean it.
I have to admit I am not very good at benign small talk and really hate it. It is so trivial and never means anything. I prefer conversations with people that I have a history with.
Live and learn. If they don't beat your butt, then its all good.
