They are already. Aren't they the world leader from whom US borrowed billions?

It would be nice if they did not have such a totalitarian government. I think China would do well to preserve their local and regional identities, traditions, and craftsmanship. We don't want to be a one flavor world.

If I buy a German Brand, it should come from Germany. It may cost more, but the quality is worth it.

When the factory owner is a so called Marxist state, workers should be rewarded with excellent salaries and great benefits. That is the ideal of equality that the Red governments rode in on. Why is the "Party" eating caviar while workers are living like slaves? That's lopsided capitalism that diminishes the quality of life for everyone except for the new class of billionaires the likes of whom Marx never knew.

Although China may be our banker, they are not a world leader on several levels. When Apple employees in China live in tenement dormitories, work up to 36 hours straight and the factory has a safety net installed to prevent workers from jumping to their deaths, then that by and of itself does not reflect a world leader to me. China is a sleeping giant and where the rest of the world looks at instant gratification, they on the other hand, think in terms of centuries. No doubt, they are a force to be reckoned with. Personally, China scares the living pants off of me because their moral code is no where close to mine.

The question appears to me indicative of expecting a certain affirmative answer. However, it must be remembered that if there is an extreme capitalist power blowing its horns, there must also be a balancing extremely communist state too in this world so that the identity of the lesser countries and races too survive. Why do we have to choose China or America as the World leader? Why not the UNO or the Commonwealth?

Eh the USA, Israel, and Western Europe and Australia and Canada all act as one big honkin' team, so truly - that group is the world leader.
