Can we, as a world population change the world?

How can we change the cycle of war, violence and greed that has prevailed for too long?

A moral revolution is the only way to do this.  If human beings around the world start seeing cooperation and solidarity, instead of competition and self-interest, as the moral guiding points of behavior, then that could change the seemingly endless cycle of war, violence, and greed that we are currently in.

Of course we can.  Just look at what happened in a few short years with the spread of Aids in the USA or what Osam Ben Laden was capable of with a small group of followers on a global level.  Both have had significant world changing significance.

On a far more positive note, look at the influence of Mother Teresa and she was just one woman. Reflect on the change she has wrought throughout a society of people by the lives she has touched and inspired.  Consider the dynamic effect of Ghandi's teachings to the world and he is only one small man in a vast world.  Even consider Oprah Winfrey and the tremendous good she has done with her Angel Network and the lives she has touched and allowed her viewers to touch in in kind.

In a population where a video can go viral in a matter of hours such as is the case with the video of the Invisible Children and the villain Koney, in the age of social media such as facebook where we can reach millions in moments, massive change on a large scale is a very real possibility from the efforts of a population of people.

In other words, we can look in the mirror and be the change we want to see in the world.  A small pebble creates a large ripple in the pond.

One of the best that we could change the world is to start doing good things specially to our self.

I think the only way we can change something in the world is to start from ourselves, because peolpe tend to judge everyone around apart of themselves. We should seek to become better persons every day of our lives, it's a hard work, but so worth it.

There was a time when experiencing peace was a dream. It was thought to be funny if someone said something like, "maybe the world will make peace instead of war". We've come a long way.
Nations have now come together to bring about peace in conflict ridden nations. I am optimistic.

The answer is NO, because we can't even change ourselves. Since 1776 this is where we are today.

I think change begins within us. And when we change, that changes how others react to us and in turn how they act. Ripples that flow to the world can begin in the silence of our own  hearts in our own prayers and intentions. What goodness begins in our minds and hearts can only spread by each of us acting on those thoughts.  We are blessed if others join us, but we have to be the catalyst, the impetus has to come from us.....the positive changes we hope to see have to be broadcast from our hearts and implemented by our hands.

Yes, as soon as we understand what really matters.
