The American people were ready for a black President, do you our government was ready?
Times have changed and the time was ripe for a black president. There is nothing to be ready about it as it was inevitable.
The wheels of state continue to turn, I don't think that Barack Obama's election or tenure as president has affected that in any way that I can discern.
I think it shows just how far we have come as a nation. Who would have thought 40 or even 30 years ago we would have had a black president? I believe we will have a women in the White House within the next 12 years.
This is the 21st century. If a person of color has the prerequisite qualifications, there should be no problem whatsover with him/her being elected President. The Caucasian male hegemony is finally losing its hold regarding being United States presidents. We Blacks represent a significant percentage of the American population and this should be reflected in the presidency as with women and other minorities of color.
