How was the Insurance Companies able to Determine that Katrina was an Act of God?
They did not "determine," they simply said so. This "act of god" nonsense in the insurance industry is nothing more than an excuse to welsh out of paying on claims, for which you've paid your insurance bills in good faith. Personally, I think that escape clause should be outlawed.
You pay for insurance to fix things when stuff happens..they should pay up..the reason it happened should not be a factor, unless you did it deliberately yourself, in which case, you're talking insurance fraud, which is a whole other issue.
I don't know how or why the insurance companies were allow to cheat so many liberals. I guess they said, let the government pay what they refuse to pay. Katrina may have been considered an act of God, but after that act was over something bad happened to the man-made levees.
If my sources are correct, I think they consulted with Jerry Falwell on that specific question.

I simply do not understand why people are fighting health care reform. I have heard the arguments against it and I keep saying how is that worse than being held hostage by the insurance companies? My insurance cost keeps going and in turn I get less and less coverage. They say the govt run...

Isn't this a basic conservative principle of government? If you live on a coast, you should assume the full responsibility of the things that come with living on the coast, including hurricanes. If you live in Texas or Louisiana, it's practically a given that there's going to be flooding from some...
