Why is it so hard for people to understand that it is okay to like different things?
Why is it so hard for people to understand that different likes does not mean one is better than the other? It does not mean one is right and one is wrong. For example, I love pink. My daughter love's lime green. There is no right or wrong. It is okay to love different colors. Why do people hate the fact that I love pink? Where does this hate originate from?

cause they have very limited world view . its like with religion, nearly all religions say that all others are equal, but then they fight to prove that theirs are more 'equal' than others. and its not necessary hate, its mostly lack of empathy, cause empathy takes effort and interest, and most people have little of either. this again is not to say that that is bad. its just what is. i sing classical ( indian classical ) and my friends cant believe that i, who is probably one of the most unconventional people they know, can do something that sounds to them , so conventional. while some of my friends listen to heavy metal, which can make my head ( which i admit to being quite hardened) spin and hurt. but which is music? they enjoy heavy metal and i enjoy classical and jazz as long as we do not need to or wish to impose on the other, its beautiful. the problems only occur once we wish to Prove that ours is better than yours, etc...
Because people often confuse 'like' with 'good' and so presume that if they like something, it, therfore, and they, must be good, so if someone doesn't like it that person must be 'bad'. A bit like the absurdity 'if you're not with me, you're against me.' Itt paints the world black and white and doesn't alllow for diferent choice.
I have no idea why people hate that you love pink- anyone is free to like whatever color they want. But for more important things like politics, religion, and values, people tend the think that the way they were raised, and therefore what they believe, is correct. Anyone who has a different view on that is crazy. I don't know why people can't keep an open mind, but it seems like everyone thinks the world is black and white- their way, or get out. Its exhausting, really...

Everyone hates the "rich" and I do not understand why. I was always under the impression the American dream was to become successful and stay successful? SO why are we always trying to punish the rich?

Why do so many Americans hate America? And if they hate it so much why don't they just leave? One thing that really bothers me is the way some Americans seem to hate everything about America. I'd just like to ask them: "If you hate everything about the country you live in then why are you...
