    Should they take away the Nobel Peace Prize from Obama?

    The New York Times article said that Obama personally handles the decisions regarding the killings and assasinations when it comes to the war on terrorism. He doesn't sound like the ideal recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

    Giving it to him in the first place was a purely political gesture by a thoroughly politicized awards committee. It had nothing to do with merit. Taking it away, if they even have the ability to do that (I don't think they do), could be expected to be just as political a decision, and that means they wouldn't.

      Perceptive as usual Attikos.  The Nobel Prize given to an unworthy Obama made it a joke, taking it away from Obama would have made it a punch line.

    The awards committee is not always thoroughly politicized. Sometimes, they give the Peace Prize for genuine good works. Other times, they give it early, in hope of encouraging a right direction. That was clearly their purpose in giving it to Obama. But giving the prize to people who order the illegal killing of millions is not new - just take a look at Americans who received the prize in the Vietnam era.
