Probably the gun control issue. People on both sides of this issue believe passionately that their view is the correct view and state it loudly and aggressively.
The most divisive issue in America has always been ego.
Ego is behind every "us versus them" concept. And there are an elite few who know how to play ego like a symphony orchestra. They own the big media companies. They own the president and most of the Congress. They own the Supreme Court. And they know how to keep alive the illusion of choice.
Now, through their Corporate Party media, "war" has become "peace keeping." Ignorance is strength. People who disagree are "conspiracy nuts."
When we have a public shooting (whether it was originated by the CIA or not), the Corporate Party knows how to whip the flames of public sentiment so that the country is divided. And with their Trillions of dollars, they can tip the scale in favor of those who agree with their agenda, like doing away with the 2nd Amendment.
Anyone who thinks that conspiracies are impossible need only look at history (if you can find a relatively unbiased writer). Operation Northwoods was a state secret for more than 30 years. Even though it was never approved, the fact that our government would even plan such a horrific "false flag" operation is scary. Now, we have evidence that 9/11 was an inside job. Not just a little, but tons of evidence -- physical, hard proof. And the most blatant proof was simply ignored by the government's investigative teams, or acknowledged but then ignored as insignificant. Things like the perfect free fall of WTC7. Symmetrical collapse from asymmetrical damage. Tons of iron microspheres in the 9/11 dust.
9/11 still controls public policy, but some think it's old news. People are still dying because of the lie of 9/11 and yet some people don't want to look. That's sad. Even some hubbers think 9/11 Truth has been thoroughly debunked, but they never investigate. They take the Corporate Party's word for it. The same thing happened in Germany 80 years ago.
Some few have an agenda for world domination and America, with its 2nd Amendment, is standing in the way. Free speech is standing in the way, so we've been assaulted with SOPA, PIPA, CISPA, TPP and other legislation. It's now a felony to protest what the government is doing (HR 347). And American citizens can be locked up without charges forever, or assassinated by presidential decree and no due process. Too many have been barking for "security" and don't realize that Ben Franklin's warning is going unheeded -- those who allow loss of liberty for a little security will deserve neither.
